John Rawls and compliance to climate change agreements: insights from a laboratory experiment

چکیده

Abstract The most evident shortcoming of the international agreements on climate actions is compliance to their prescriptions. Can John Rawls’s social contract theory help us solve problem? We apply veil ignorance decision-making setting in a sequential dictator game study change and we test model laboratory experiment. shows be very powerful at inducing subjects converge sustainable intergenerational path. However, voluntary agreement still remains an open issue, because even small incentives defect can undermine stability, therefore break whole dynamic.
